Designed in 1949 by influential Southern California modernist Rodney Walker, the Asher Residence is an incredible example of early Los Angeles mid-century architecture.
While the Asher Residence isn’t technically a Case Study House, Walker designed three homes for the famous Case Study House program, and you can definitely see some of that same architectural DNA here.
Think redwood, glass, post-and-beam construction, and walls of windows throughout.
The home was designed to bring the landscaping and views inside, making the outdoors feel like an extension of the living space. It’s California modernism at its best.
