Friday Find: A Legendary Bel-Air Estate with Hollywood Party History

This Bel-Air estate hosted some of the most iconic parties in Hollywood history… check out my Friday Find.

Let’s go back about 75 years — when “Tex” Feldman and his wife Jayne Poindexter Feldman came west to Los Angeles after making a fortune in oil in Texas.

They settled into prime lower Bel-Air… and quickly became known for hosting some of the most glamorous parties in town.

And just to put this into perspective — Jayne lived in this home until 2024 and passed away at 107 years old.

Picture this…

Lucille Ball at dinner, seated between Henry Fonda and Richard Burton…
while Ronald Reagan is practicing speeches with a young Clint Eastwood…
and Burt Bacharach is on the piano.

Add in names like Clark Gable and Audrey Hepburn…

I mean — I would’ve loved an invite to one of these parties.

The house itself is a total time capsule — even in the primary, the bedspreads match the wallpaper. So cool.

And the scale here is just as impressive.

The property includes:

• 7 structures
• 11 bedrooms
• 16 bathrooms
• approximately 11,000 square feet
• set on nearly 2 acres across three parcels

Outside, you’ve got a north-south facing tennis court with a tennis house, overlooking the 15th and 16th holes of the Bel-Air Country Club and the city beyond.

And just past the pool is the Copper Room pool house — with two bars, a dance floor, and the original projection booth for private screenings.

My favorite part.

Above that, there’s a 3-bedroom, 2-bath guest house… plus a Texas-style BBQ terrace.

Nearly 2 acres, three parcels, and this kind of history in Bel-Air…

This property is listed for $13,200,000.

And as always… check out my Friday Find.

What This Home Tells Us About the Market

Even at the highest price points, legacy estates in Bel Air with history, scale, and provenance continue to command attention. Properties like this aren’t just about square footage—they’re about storytelling, and buyers at this level are drawn to homes with a legacy they can carry forward.

We’re also seeing a continued premium for compounds and multi-structure estates. With privacy becoming more important than ever, homes that offer separate guest houses, staff quarters, or multiple buildings on one lot are increasingly desirable.

And lastly, true “time capsule” properties—homes that have been preserved rather than over-renovated—are having a moment. Buyers are either looking to restore them thoughtfully or completely reimagine them, but either way, the uniqueness is the value.

Who This Home Is Perfect For

This property is ideal for a buyer who values history, privacy, and scale—someone who isn’t just looking for a house, but a legacy estate.

It could also appeal to a developer or end user looking to create a one-of-a-kind compound in one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious neighborhoods.

And of course, for someone who loves to entertain… this is the kind of home that was literally built for it.
